A rainy day in Girona... It took only a few bites of the creations of the Roca brothers to start an amazing trip in Catalan food and culture. El Celler de Can Roca was recently named the best restaurant in the world, and is certainly well worth the publicity. Everything in this unique space reflects the triad of the brothers. The dining room is a trigone with an internal glass-bound garden... The center piece of the table is three stones... The cellar is divided into three sections.... Joan is the head chef, Josep the sommelier, and Jordi the pastry chef. The whole night is a pilgrimage to Catalan tastes, and ingredients. Olives, prawns, white truffle, white asparagus, and lamb paint a canvas of explosive modern twists on local flavors. Not enough can be said about the professionalism and the talent of the front of the house staff in this restaurant. Friendly and welcoming, they lead you in this amazing journey. Great group of people, great atmosphere.
