Albert's Adria high-end tapas bar, after the closure of El Bulli... 50 courses and a unique audiovisual experience. Extremely difficult to get reservations. Chef Adria transports his guests to another universe of culinary exploration. Bite sized creations combined with paired drinks in a fast paced trip around the world, with strong references to Catalan tradition. Every dish is artistically displayed, and is a testament to culinary creativity in a miniature scale. The sounds and images projected are corresponding to the areas that are referenced in the courses (the menu is divided in regions of the world). It is located next to Tickets, a more laid-back venue. Overall an unforgettable experience...
Tacked in a quiet neighborhood in Barcelona, this family owned and ran tapas bar is a well kept secret by the locals. Unique flavors, fresh ingredients, and friendly service. Highlights include the smoked salmon montadito (open sandwich with smoked salmon, greek yogurt and Italian truffle honey), and the prawns montadito. A big wheel of Torta del Casar (sheep's milk cheese from the Extremadura region) is displayed on the counter, ready to be served with a candied chestnut. The best tapas bar in a city that lives and breathes food.
