An exceptional restaurant! Loved by the locals, and flooded by visitors from around the world. Juan Mari Arzak created a great tradition, based on which his daughter Elena re-invented a new standard for cooking! This is a family restaurant in all levels. Service is warm and welcoming, with great attention to detail. The sommelier is a true master of his craft. Elena Arzak connects with her guests like no other chef. She takes orders, discusses the food, and makes sure everybody has a great time! The food is faithful to Catalan traditions, but also integrates a lot of international influences. Most prevalent we noticed South American flavors with manioc (cassava), and huitlacoche (corn smut) being part of multiple dishes. Chef Arzak uses similar ingredients in different temperatures, states, and textures for her dishes creating a canvas of unique tastes. Overall, this makes for an unforgettable experience! Deception and surprise are central in the presentations! Deserts are equally amazing!
